Fees

fomo fees explained

What fomo actually charges on trades, deposits and withdrawals, where the hidden costs are, and how it stacks up against the other ways of buying memecoins.

Updated

the trading fee

fomo's pricing is simpler than most crypto apps. There is one main fee: 0.5% of the trade value, charged on every buy and every sell. That is the whole spot-trading fee schedule. There are no tiers, no maker/taker split, no monthly plans.

Two details worth knowing:

  • Minimum charge. Solana trades carry a minimum fee of roughly $0.95. On a $20 trade, 0.5% would be $0.10, so the minimum kicks in instead. Below about $190 per trade you are paying more than 0.5% in effect. Size your trades accordingly if you're scalping small amounts.
  • Perps. If you use fomo's perpetuals, the fee is 0.05% per transaction, separate from the spot fee.

how to pay half

The one lever you control is the promo code. Enter TRADINGFEE when you create your account and the spot fee drops to 0.25%. It is applied at sign-up and stays on the account permanently, so it compounds with every trade you make.

Monthly volumeFees at 0.5%Fees at 0.25%Saved per month
$2,000$10$5$5
$10,000$50$25$25
$50,000$250$125$125
$200,000$1,000$500$500

Volume means buys plus sells. A $5,000 position bought and sold once is $10,000 of volume.

gas and network fees

This is where fomo is meaningfully cheaper than doing it yourself. On Solana, Base, BNB Chain and Monad, fomo covers gas, priority fees and the one-time Solana token rent. You never hold SOL for gas, never set a priority fee, and never see a transaction fail because you ran out of the native token.

Ethereum mainnet is the exception. Deposits and withdrawals on Ethereum carry network gas on top of fomo's own fee, and Ethereum gas can be several dollars per transaction. If you're trading Solana or Base tokens this doesn't affect you.

Costs fomo doesn't control still apply on every chain: liquidity pool fees baked into the swap route, and slippage between the quoted price and the executed price. fomo shows estimates in the app where it can, but these are set by the protocols and the market, not by fomo.

deposit fees

  • Crypto (USDC). Free from fomo's side. You only pay your sending wallet's network fee. Send USDC only, on a supported network, or the funds are lost.
  • Apple Pay and debit card. These go through a third-party payment provider, and card processing usually carries a fee shown at checkout before you confirm. Check the figure on screen.

withdrawal fees

fomo does not publish a fixed withdrawal fee schedule. What applies is shown on the withdraw screen at the time. The general picture:

  • Crypto withdrawal. You withdraw USDC to an external wallet on a supported network. On the gas-covered chains this is cheap; on Ethereum you pay network gas.
  • Bank withdrawal. Available in some regions, typically up to 3 business days. First-time withdrawals may require extra identity verification, so do this once with a small amount before you need it in a hurry.

Because there's no published number, treat any site that quotes an exact fomo withdrawal fee with suspicion unless it links to where fomo says so.

how fomo compares

The honest comparison is against the other ways of buying the same tokens. Fee figures for other products change; these are their standard published rates at the time of writing, so check before you rely on them.

MethodSwap feeGasNotes
fomo with TRADINGFEE0.25%CoveredApple Pay funding, social feed, no seed phrase
fomo, no code0.5%CoveredStandard rate
Phantom in-wallet swap0.85%You paySelf-custody, need SOL for gas
Telegram / web trading bots~1%You payFast, but fee plus priority tips add up
Centralised exchangeVaries, often 0.5–1.5% incl. spreadn/aLimited memecoin listings, KYC, slower onboarding

On raw fee, fomo at the standard 0.5% already undercuts a Phantom swap, and the gas coverage widens the gap on small trades. At 0.25% with the code it is among the cheapest ways to buy memecoins without running your own wallet.

The trade-off is custody. fomo holds the wallet for you (the key is split across parties via Privy, and you can export it). That's convenient, but it's not the same as self-custody, which matters if you hold large balances. More on that in is fomo legit?.

summary

  • 0.5% per buy and sell, ~$0.95 minimum on Solana. 0.05% on perps.
  • Gas covered on Solana, Base, BNB and Monad. Ethereum charges gas.
  • No published withdrawal fee; check the screen. Bank withdrawals take up to 3 business days.
  • Code TRADINGFEE at sign-up halves the trading fee to 0.25% for life. It only works at account creation, so enter it before you finish onboarding.
